Cotton or microfiber: which should you specify?
The answer depends on the job the towel must do. Cotton is often selected for bath and hospitality ranges where a natural, familiar feel is central. Microfiber is often chosen when fast drying, compact packing, fine-particle pickup or a printable smooth face is more important.
A material name alone is not a full specification. Ask for composition, construction, weight, dimensions, finish, colour route and test expectations in the same brief.

Match the fabric to the branding technique
- Looped terry supports embroidery, borders and selected print processes, but very fine artwork may lose detail in the pile.
- Smooth suede microfiber creates a clearer surface for detailed digital or heat-transfer graphics.
- Waffle and heavily textured fabrics need artwork and stitch density adjusted to the surface.
- Always approve decoration on the actual base fabric rather than on an unrelated swatch.

What to confirm during sampling
Review absorbency, colour, lint, dimensional change, seam stability and drying behaviour against the intended use. For cleaning and automotive products, also confirm surface safety and cleaning performance on the customer’s target application.
